Southern California Saltwater Report 11/6-12
#1

Southern California Saltwater

Reports for November 6, 2003 (Thursday)

Angler numbers fall with the fish counts. For a number of days now, either boats have not gone out or boats were going out with 5,7, 10 anglers. Fishing ain't that bad guys IF YOU GET ON THE RIGHT BOAT!

Some Good Bets include the Persuit, Premier, Victory, Monte Carlo, Enterprise, Sport King, Freelance, Sum Fun, Dana Pride just to name a few.

Way Up North- Avila and Monterey
No boats out except Chris's with limits of rockfish.

Up North- Channel Island
Mixed bag of species but not limit catches. Few boats out.

LA Area- Catalina Island
Few anglers, few boats, low catch numbers but calicos, barracuda, bonito, whitefish, blue perch are all there.

Further South- San Clemente
Trips should start there from tomorrow night so check out some of the south coast landings for boats.

San Diego- Local and Offshore
Lots of local boats stayed at the dock. Some boats went out with 5 anglers for totals of 15, 30, 45 fish. Offshore boats still working for the fish.

LA Local
Majority of 1/2 day and 3/4 day boats stayed at the dock! The few that went out had 5, 10, 15 anglers. South Coast did better with yellowfin and skipjack number respectable.

Report for November 7, 2003 (Friday)

Way Up North- Avila and Monterey
Chris's and Virg's did great on limits of rockfish.

Up North- Channel Islands
NO BOATS OUT!

LA Area- Catalina Island
The usual suspects are there but not many boats are going with the chances of yellowfin and skippies so close to home. I suspect the Persuit went to the island as they had over 15 yellows.

Further South- San Clemente
Should know something by now. But......

San Diego- Local and Offshore
Local boats are not getting the yellows, YFT or skippies. Offshore guys are again getting the albies along with the other big three species.

LA Local
Yellowfin and skippies take the spotlight with bonito, bass and lots of sculpin and rockfish taking up the slack. South Coast boat still doing the best overall. Most 3/4 day boats are getting some YFT and skippies.

LA Local- Lots of sculpin, bonito, bass, etc. Nothing great going on so it scratching. YFT and skippie bite down.

CISC did really well and other landing go a real mixed bag of fish.
