I took 3 boys from the team out on the berry today. A chilly -10 at 7:30 arrival. After a brisk hike, we drilled couple holes and found our depth. Set up the new tent, finished drilling holes and started to fish. First two minutes and BAM!!! 19" cut. A few minutes later an 18" cut. A good start on a cold day. No more cuts after that but we did manage about 45 more rainbows. Kept 4 for the dinner table. We had one big cut trying to bite the fish camera numerous times. I need to rig a hook on that. Kids got tired of teasing fish with the camera and jigs at 1:00 so we called it a good day. Warmed up to nice 5 degrees by that time. Very glad we had the tent and heater. Ice was 8" solid at our location. Powder was about 12" on top of the ice. Fish would hit green or white jigs tipped with anything. We fished in 20' and caught fish at all depths.
