Slow and cold describes the day....and frigid describes it better.... and cold enough to freeze the balls of a brass monkey describes it better.
Between 1manwolfpack and myself we managed 3 slimers and 5 perch. Bite is light to say the least and few and far between. Oh yea1mwp caught a surprise fish too that I will let him post, caught us all off guard.
Caught the trout on glow gazillas w/meal and the perch on spoons tipped w/meal. Only talked to a few other anglers on our way out and they were all surprised that we caught fish so it sounds like just one of those days.

Thanks for posting your report. Any size to the perch? Do you think the meal worms work better than wax worms?

Perch were between 6 and 8" not really anything spectacular. As for the meal/wax I didn't try a wax as past experience meal has always worked better for me. I know some guys prefer wax but meal has been the better bait for me.
I know I'm gonna get railed for this but I think they work better than perch eyes. I have yet to catch a perch using an eye and have given up the effort. Even when others around me are catching with eyes my meal pole catches fish and the eye pole doesn't...... I will use perch meat though and got a few hits with it today but no hook-ups.

How were the edges? I went up there last Wednesday and was unable to get my atv on the ice. In fact, I had to walk for a bit to find a good place to wade across to the ice.

I would love to catch some fresh suckers for fresh cut bait for macs and the like. Sounds like how my saturday was: slow but consistent.

Edges were solid but rugged (ice pushed up in ridges) on the west side of the lake. Didn't check the east side. There were multiple snowmobiles on the ice but I don't recall seeing any atvs.
