Deer Creek Question

I am headed to the North end of Deer Creek tomorrow morning. I guess its the Charleston area. How thick is the ice up there? I dont want to make the drive just to find out there is unsafe ice. Thanks!

as of saturday the ice is to the island and is 6-7 inches thick. the deepest part i found is 35' of water.
there was one brave soul fishing by the dam on thin ice.
