[/blue][blue]Though fishing was a little slow after the cool front, it really picked up during the week, according to all reports.
One of the trips aboard the Dolphin with Capt. Dean Luke produced a 465-pound mako shark, said John Hollinger at Dolphin Dock. He said it took about three hours to land the big shark, which was 10-feet long.
One lucky angler caught a swordfish on another trip during the week, Hollinger said.
In addition to a “good catch of yellowfin tuna,” anglers caught kingfish, wahoo and grouper.
Anglers caught limits of red snapper until the season closed.
During the week, one angler caught a 54-pound wahoo.
Other species landed were amberjack, ling, kingfish, Atlantic sharpnose shark and blackfin tuna.
Anglers out of Fisherman’s Wharf continued to see good catches of red snapper right up until the season closed.
Since the season on red snapper closed, they’ve been catching blackfin tuna, amberjack, vermilion and lane snapper, ling and “real nice” grouper.

On the longer trips they caught blackfin and yellowfin tuna as well as nice amberjack.
“All in all, it was a good week of fishing,” .
Woody’s Sports Center said that the sheepshead have started showing up. It was reported that an angler caught three nice-size ones on the north jetty over the weekend.
He said a few redfish and scattered trout were biting on the north jetty.
While walking on the south jetty, Rogers said he saw some keeper and oversize redfish on stringers that were caught on the channel side.
Terry Jensen at Horace Caldwell Pier reports anglers are catching shark, sheepshead, whiting and Spanish mackerel during the day.
At night, she said, they are bringing in flounder and speckled trout.
