I was curious if there are any other fish in Gunnison Reservoir than carp. I have researched about it and lakelubbers.com claims that there are catfish, perch, bluegill, and largemouth bass in the reservoir. I'm not quite sure if i should believe this or not because most of the locals i have talked say that carp are the only thing that are in there anymore. Any info would be appreciated. It is quite a large reservoir so maybe something in there. PM me if necessary. Thanks everyone.

I read in the stocking reports that they put like 40,000 rainbows in there last Spring/Summer so I went and tried it a few times in December pre-ice and once through the ice. All I caught was carp, carp, and more carp...Though last year I caught a few perch, bluegill, and one cutthroat right by the dam...along with a lot more carp.

I fished there in the early 80's and caught quite a few nice largemouth bass. Was told then that there were bluegill in there too but I never got into them.

Our club used to fish it all the time and we had some pretty good tournaments there. It got pretty much drained in the several drought years and the bass, gills, and perch never were able to compete with the carp after that, very similar to Yuba. It is mainly the waterski pond for Manti now !! Duck and Goose hunters use it in the fall also.
