Headed to strawberry in the morning from cache valley, and have heard mixed reports of the slush and snow conditions. Has any one been up in the past day or two that would be willing to tell me how it is? It's a long way to drive for us to be stuck in the slush all day, so your help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks.

It all just depends on your transportation. Me and my father in law went up today and had an excellent time on our sleds but the folks I talked to that was on a ATV's or UTVs was having a lot of trouble getting around. The conditions was 4 inches of snow and 3-5 inches of slush. Didn't measure the ice but it was plenty thick. If you're pulling out by hand you should have no problem. Bite was good until 10 o'clock then died off from there. Light breeze all day but nothing that would justify a tent. No pictures of fish today but let's just say the family will have plenty of omega oils :-)

Like the look of your sled [fishing one]. Could you please share details about all of the features?
Thanks

It's actually quite a simple design. I took two jetsleds and hinged the front of them together. I used 1/16" coated cable connecting the 2 in order to stop the lid from going all the way forward. This is a must, If you don't you will spring the hinge!! Single layer of painted plywood to hold the auger and 2 pieces of painted plywood sandwiched one on top and one on the inside screwed together to support the motor head of the auger. 6" long U channel to hold the handle of the auger. Two Eye bolts attached to the lower sled, then notches cut into the upper sled to keep it all lined up. 6 rod holders on the back. Eye bolts and bungee cords as needed.
Over all i'm pretty happy with the way it turned out. It keeps 95% of the snow out, you can load a ton of stuff in it and it gives you a tabletop to work and eat off of. One warning, if you mount your auger up the way I did it can get a little top heavy. I hit a nasty slush pocket and one side of my snowmobile track dug in deeper than the other. Next thing I know the sled was on it's side. Glad I didn't have any rods in the holders or they probably would have got broken.
