Wow - so did you pull an all-nighter?
More 5 inchers?
If it was slow I'd have to suggest "location location location". I have heard from number of folks on especially the night-time Crappie slabbos, but only night trip I tried - late season - the "ice" was so thick - we didn't move around much. Something about 16" of frozen snow/slush before you hit solid clear ice - yeah, can wear you down!
I've had a hard time finding Crappie through the ice. Not so simple as drop to the bottom, and two turns up. Doesn't mean I won't keep trying!

No sir, it is real, just have to be in the right spot. When the sun goes behind the mountains it's on. If your in the right area you will see all the crappie coming into feed on your fish finder and they will generally be there a long while. I have seen times when they are active until 2:00 am.. I just haven't been up this year due to the size of the fish this year, should be better for next year after they have another years growth on them.

As was said earlier, the key is location. I have been up a couple if times this year and done well on numbers, but size is lacking. Have tried a couple different areas that generally produce, and the numbers are there, but no size to them.
In about two years it should be crazy good if you know where to go. But I'm not saying where. Sorry [crazy]
