I've decided to head to Panguitch Lake early next week. Anybody been there recently? Ice is still safe so I'd break in the new auger a bit more.
Thanks in advance.

I went there yesterday, between 3 of us we caught 18 in 4 hours. the bite was really good till 1030 then died (only caught 1 after 1030) we fished in 8' of water on the south side of the lake. I try to get a away from the crowds. White jigs tiped with any bait worked.
Good luck and let us know how you do.

There are rainbows, cuts brooks and tigers in there. We caught 4 finless freddies at 8 inches, a bunch at 15ish and 3 at 20+. I have caught larger and seen one at 30". There are some toads in there.
The pic is of an 18" cut, which seemed to be the most common.

I caught them a few years ago during the fall when they were spawning right where blue springs flows into the lake. I dont think that there are many but i know for a fact that it has them.

A few at 18" just either dragging a worm or woly buggers through the beds! the south east bay also has some spawners in the fall. They spawn on the north facing slope in the weeds. Fun to catch.
My favorite place for the Spawning Brooks is Yankee Meadows Res. I have caught one there at 20" was a Toad! same presentation as Panguitch.
