Mountain Dell/Little Dell
#1
I was wondering if anybody has fished much at either Mountain Dell or Little Dell Reservoir just up Parleys? If so, what kind of fish were you catching, and what were you using?

According to the 2013 guidebook, it looks like Mountain Dell is closed to fishing. I drove up there late last fall and saw some people fishing there, I guess they weren't following the rules...

Anywho, any info would be appreciated.

I know for a fact you cannot fish Mountain Dell. As for little dell I attached a few fish pics that were caught during my trips in Febuary. All you are really going to catch is bonneville cutts.

Are you a fly guy or spin caster?

Some nice cuts! I love using spinners. I bought a fly rod this last summer, but never got around to using it. I'd like to get into it a little bit though.

I noticed in the proclamation it says that all cutthroats must be immediately released from Little Dell (I don't really care because I rarely keep fish anyways) but have you caught anything else in there?

I personally have not caught any other species in that lake and I have spent quite a lot of time at Little Dell. supposedly there are a few brook trout and brown trout but I have yet to see it myself. I would just count on the cutts.

If you are a lure chucker I would go with a gold kastmaster. Silver is ok and I never have had any luck with spinners at Little Dell. Also rainbow rapalas and strike king red eye shad's in baby carp and bad to the bone colors. Tube jigs work wonders there too!

Hmm, Interesting. Any specific colors of tube jigs?

Pumpkin pepper is great, but glow, glow pepper, and white should all work too.

Awesome, thanks a lot. When was the last time you were up there?
