Well Idahoron, I went bank fishing yesterday...only my second trip of the year and had a good 4 hours...started fishing at about 12...at 1 ish I hooked a giaganto that wouldn't give me any quarter...he just slowly pulled off line away from me and I couldn't stop him or turn him...so after 20 minutes of kicking my hiny...I looked down and realized I only had about 50 yds of line left...so I decided to let him have it and locked down hard on him...the line was singing like a guitar string and he wasn't playing nice so I broke him off at the hook tie...luckily though saving all the line and weight system...
So I tied on a new hook and reloaded...an hour later I nailed another one...this time I could move him slowly in my direction so after about 30 minutes I landed a nice 7-8 footer...he was a pig though...very heavy for his length...anyway...after that I was tapped out so we(my trusty fishin dog)headed home...it was Koda's first fishing trip and he did awesome...I was trying to get him to come down and say hi to the sturgeon like he did to the Smallie I caught earlier...but when he saw how big it was he said no way and climbed up to the boulder I was fishing from and watched me from there..LOL
