Easter on Starvation

Started kind of rough, my partner begged out she wasn't feeling well. Got to the launch at 9:00. Put a new battery in my troller last night thought my engine battery was fine, bad assumption. Took a jump from my troller to start. Water temp was 41 air temp was 32. Headed west along the beach decided to drag a shad rap in perch and a jointed SR5 in a hot craw color. Let out 200' of line and moved at 2.3. Rounded the end of the beach and a small but chunky 15" hit on the hot craw. Changed the straight shad rap for a jointed SR5 in perch and bam in 50, a fat 18" bow. Trolled along the cliff to Indian bay marked a few fish and started seeing clouds of baitfish. Hope they are perch. The water looks to be up about 10' since the end of ice fishing. Went to the gulch, marked a few and caught none. Drop shot Berkley minnows in favorite places, nada.Trolled west to the bridge along the north cliffs. Marked a lot caught none. Fished southwest of the bridge changed from a hot craw to a suspended Rapala in rainbow using a 50/50 2 oz weight. No takers. Finished back at the cliff between Indian bay and the beach. Unbuttoned 2 on the rainbow while trying to unhook the weight. It is a better system with 2 guys working the weight and the rod. Hit a really nice 19"on the perch and called it a day. Surf and turf tomorrow night. All fish were caught in 27 FOW or less.

Wow that ice went quick. Did you try jigging on those perch(baitfish) you saw or was it just a troutski day? Thanks for sharing your report and pic.

Tried everything for the perch including all the GPS locations. Fished from 2' to 40. Had only 1 tug on a Berkeley minnow. By the way the trout were so rich they kept you awake.
