Talking about the fish type, I have been graphing lots of nice sized fish laying right off the bottom and suspect they are channel cats. I've floated night crawlers past them, jigged for them, pulled walleye rigs past them and tried cut bait (carp) with not even a nibble... Seen two guys there before me and they had a pair of 5 and 6 lb cats they took home to dinner, so I know they are biting, but not for me any idea what I might try different? By-the-way the guys told me they were using night crawlers and I didn't detect any sarcasm in their voices... I've also seen other spots in the river with fish from mid water column to the bottom, that has treated me the same way, no attention... Am I just living up to my name or what can I do when nothing seems to be eating? Later J

Hint: WD40 with a touch of garlic
and don't forget who you're dealing with!!!

If they get playful and roll on their back, you can be pretty certain of a cat-scratch-attack!

Just something I picked up from Fishley. Fish can be really sensitive to scent at times. Try washing your hands really good in the river using Ivory soap, rinse them thoroughly in the river water and let them pretty much air dry before handling your bait. Can't hurt & might help. Never done it myself but have heard of using Ivory soap for catfish bait. Fishley tells me to only use Ivory.

Interesting, I've heard that ivory can help with Charly horses as well. I'll have to give it a try. Thank you. J
