STELLWAGEN BANK, MA- Cod Fishing 2/10/02<br><br><br>Saturday’s Split charter comprised of John Colson’s group from Forked River, NJ, Paul Grasso’s group from Burlington, MA and Gary Fowler from of all places,<br>Taylorsville, KY. The group battled the early morning Northeast chop to fish the Bank’s north shoals on B-Fast’s DECISIVE. The early morning pick, produced medium cod in the 8 to 12 pound range using jig and teaser rigs in 80-120 ft. Fortunately, the wind and sea calmed down by mid-day.<br><br>On Sunday, two groups of New Yorker’s, Sung Chung’s group from the Bronx and Lonnie Montgomery’s group from the City, fished the bank on the SASHAMY and DECISIVE. The day brought early morning calm winds and seas and cod aggressively feeding on sand eels and herring with the pending passage of a low in the afternoon. Typically, fish feed actively due to pressure changes and today was no exception. Good numbers of medium sized cod—Market cod—came over the rails between 8 and 15 pounds with a couple in the 18-20 pound class. Small pollock were also mixed in with the bait concentrations in the 80-120 ft depths on the shoals.<br><br>B-Fast will be exhibiting at the Dodge Truck Fishing and Hunting Expo in Hartford, CT at the Hartford Convention center February 14-17.<br><br><br>Capt.
