Willard report
#1
Bucked the wind today at Willard Bay until my back couldn't take it anymore. First time on water with new to me boat. Fished from about 10:00 - 3:00. Trolled open water, bottom bounced at various depths, chucked grubs and plugs at the rocks, waited for the rain that never came. Only 2 hits all day, landed both. A 9" smallmouth in the west dike rocks on a small rattlin' rap, and an 18" walleye trolling a small shad rap with the wind about 300 yards off the middle of the north dike. Not many boats out there today, it was a rough one. Talked to one other guy that was fishless. Tons of people casting from shore in the marina in the afternoon, but don't know if they were catching or not. Water temp was averaging about 67.

Wish I could have fished it a day or two ago during the nice weather. Still waiting for somebody to flip the magic switch on the walleye. It's just about that time...

Sorry about the above post. I was logged in under my twin's username.

Great report. Glad to hear that you braved the weather and took care of business! Lots of others would surely turn around when faced with those kinds of conditions. And hey.....you even caught some fish!
