This summer I'm heading up to the Ozarks for a family reunion and my grandparent's 50th. I'm up there from the 15-27th. I'd like to do a fair amount of fishing and all the other times I've been up there I've had pretty decent luck except for the fact it was so hot the fish were at the bottom of the lake. I'd like to step up my catfish game and also some walleye. Also, I've never caught any musky/northern while there and was wondering if you guys had any advice or tips on that. I do have a ski boat. Much Thanks!

Hi,
I might be able to help you out here. Where exactly are you going to be in the Ozarks? It's a large area but I know every inch of Arkansas...
Bull shoals is going to be your best bet for a great white catfishing trip. The Nursery pond in the east sugarloaf area stocks walleye then drains the pond into bull shoals... so you want to fish near that area of BS if you want some good walleye catching. Might not get a monster fish but you will get lots of action.
You can catch Tiger Muskies on the spring river in the northern areas and late fall to early spring farther south.
Be a little more specific and I can help you more. You going to be there in June? Can I come along?? lol....

if your going artificial, use white lures with glitter or white soft plastics with glitter.

Bytebull, You might want to check your geography before offering advise. The Lake of the Ozarks are totally within Missouri - I'm betting at least a 100 miles north of the Arkansas Line. Bull Shoals is In Arkansas - at least mostly (it's been a couple decades since I've been there and don't recall if the northern boundary crosses into Missouri). 2 totally different areas. Personally I don't think of anything north or west of I-44 in Missouri as Ozarks ( totally different lay of the land and you lose that Ozark hillbilly twang) but I think technically ay least part of the lake is in the Ozarks geographically.

Yea your right. But the Ozarks are most of Northwest Arkansas too. I know. Thanks for the geography education.
