Spent last friday through yesterday at Powell. Launched at Bullfrog early friday morning and headed up the lake to find a solitary camping spot. After checking many canyons my wife and I ended up in Ticaboo Canyon. Wished I would have turned on the gps. My guess is we went about 30 miles(?).
We only saw two boats on Memorial monday.
I put a new prop on my Yamahe F150 and that really woke the motor up! Excellent hole shot even with an over loaded boat, great cruising/top end speed, and great gas mileage.
I bb'd every morning in search of walleye but only caught channels, smallies, and blue gill on the worm harnesses. Throwing crawdad imitation jigs and Gulp 3" minnows on drop shot yielded all the large and small mouths you want. Caught a lot of fantastic bluegill that were absolutely delicious. Caught monster crappie that I am not used to catching. The trip could of only been better had I been able to figure out the walleye.
The high light of the trip was pulling out my boat after having it in the water for 5 days and not having a drop in it. If you remember a few months ago I had water in the bilge every trip. It was definitely the through-hull fitting from the front livewell.
I love it when a plan comes together!
