Hail call for Wiperhunter
#1
Hi Curt,

I have a pic I can send you of my Powell crappie (a monster to me) that you asked about. I don't know how to post it, it is tied to a text message.
I will send it to you in a text and feel free to post it if you want.

Thanks, Shane

Sorry Shane, I can't help you, I don't do text and I have no idea how to receive a pic from your phone. Maybe one of the other guys can help us out. I can give you my Email address, if you know how to send the pic to your Email address.

Save pic to your phone then email it to yourself, then you can save it to your pic and/or just forward it.

To save an attachment on most smart phones text messages go to the text hold your thumb down on the screen over the picture, a dialog box will come up and will say something like save attachment. it will save it to your photo gallery on your phone and then you can email it to yourself and save it on your computer.

Shane, That's a slab, I'll bet it put up a fight... Hey do you fish Willard Bay in a bass boat looking craft? If so I think you taught me how to keep from being skunked there a couple years ago over along the north dike... Your tips have been very much appreciated... I haven't been skunked at Willard ever since you taught me how to do it... Thanks a bunch... One of these days I want to go try my luck over there again.. Hope to maybe even find my first wiper this year... I may even sneak out in the morning on Cutler just to get some time on the water... I haven't wetted a line all through my favorite fish'en month of May, so I need to get out and give it try before I forget how... Catch ya later... J

Hey a Jeffer - maybe you can take me under your wingding and learn me up some of them tactics. Though can't say I've given it a try since Curt showed me how to FEED the fish, rather than just washing lures, and dragging worms away from fish.

Maybe I need to check my skilz, and see if I learned anything. Hopefully run the "new" boat down there while the wet season is still on.

That's a deep dark crappie alrighty. Looks thick - did you get a measure on it? Definitely my most favorite panfish.

J- swung my J-bridge last Friday, but wasn't able to find any Crappie or Bass playing yet. Though I did have to kitty tugs, and one big rip (and drop). Missed it by THAT much ><.

Have had numbers of good trips out on Cutler. Not a skunk yet. Even today, I forgot how to get a hookset, but at least got a fellow BFTer into some decent channel action.

Hey Yote, it would be fun to go try Willard with ya someday soon... I guess I'm finally getting my sprinkler going on the new hay, so if it works tomorrow, I may be able to do a little fishing one of these days... Tried the sprinkler just before dark and it's leaking like crazy and nozzles are plugged and I think I have a bird nest plugging half the pipe, so I've got a little work to go yet, but I'm getting closer.. So tell me about this new boat, have you made the maiden voyage yet? Is it a little larger and more reliable so you can rule the seven seas?

Seems like you are rocking on the cat's this year, been making me jealous big time as I'm stuck on dry land trying to farm... Are they still in the shallows, in case I sneak out in the morning? I think it will be too wet to farm first thing, so I think I'll go for a float in the pontoon... Don't have any worms, do you think carp minnows will work? Grabbed a couple last fall and froze them, not sure they'll eat them since they aren't the right size for this time of year, but hopefully they don't notice... Anyway, I'll have to watch for your rig a little better, I seen the three vehicles over at your spot last week, but didn't notice yours there... Catch ya later... J

Yes, that was me.
I love the Willard north dike but last year it wasn't so good to me. The year I saw you it was relatively easy to catch a limit of eyes along the rocks but last year only produced smallies, cats, bluegill, and smaller wipers.
I haven't been there yet this year.
I notice you live in Benson which isn't too far away from Newton and Cornish.
Two of my really good friends live up near you. Would you happen to know Cole Richards from Newton or Cory Law from Cornish? Cory used to live in Smithfield until he moved to his farm in Cornish.
Cory and I used to hit Oneida quite often. Any reports from there?
I am glad the tips worked for you.
Good luck fishing this year.

If its the same Cole, my daughter and his used to play soccer together so I do know Cole he's a good man. And I found the same luck as you on Willard last year except for the wiper. We caught mostly cats but I love picking up cats while trolling they are a great fight. Well just about to launch on Cutler so catch ya later. J

Oh, I forgot to answer the Oneida question, I haven't been there yet, but hope to try in the next couple weeks... I sure like trying walleye up there, even if they are small.. If I get up there I'll try to post the results unless they are too embarrassing.... Oh, the cats were fun today... Later J
