Cabelas King Kat Tourney Results for Warrior RIver
#1
This past Saturday June 1st, the Cabela's King Kat Tournament Trail hit the waters of the Warrior River at Tuscaloosa, Alabama. In the event several of the top anglers from 8 different states were competing not only for cash and prizes, but the opportunity to qualify for the 2013 Cabela's King Kat Classic. This year's Cabela's King Kat Classic will be held September 26-28, 2013 on Kentucky Lake at Camden, Tennessee. Be sure to check out our new website at: www.kingkatusa.com. It's a new site with new and exciting information on our events along with special information for catfish anglers everywhere.

Results for the Top Teams

Taking first place was the team of Carl Morris Jr of Johnstown, Ohio and Sean Martin of Blacklick, Ohio with a weight of 68 pounds and earning $3,000.00. Carl and Sean also captured big fish of the event giving them an additional $280.00. Carl and Sean were fishing down south of the weigh in site in 25 feet of water, drifting and targeting wood cover on the bottom. Their thought was that the blue cat were ready to spawn and would be in the thick blow downs. The team caught a total of 7 fish using skipjack. Each team may weigh in their top 5 fish for the day.

Second place went to Joey Pounders of Caledonia, Mississippi and Jerry Pounders of Columbus, Mississippi with a weight of 30.7 pounds and earning $1,500.00. Joey and Jerry were fishing in Eutah Creek area in 28 feet of water using skipjack sides and shad heads on their B'n'M Silver Cat Poles targeting fish holding in downed trees to catch only 4 fish for the day.

In third was the Arory, Mississippi team of Adam Long and Kevin Earnest with a weight of 26.3 pounds and earning $500.00. Adam and Kevin were fishing the Foster area in 15-20 feet of water using shad while anchored down tight in the timber to catch 4 fish for the day.

A special thanks to Don Staley and his staff from Tuscaloosa Tourism and Sports Commission for their hard work in making the event a success. This was our staffs' first visit to Tuscaloosa and we found some of the south's finest hospitiality around every corner. It is truly a great fishing destination. B 'n'M is the 2013 "Official Rod Sponsor" of the Trail!<br />
B'n'M has been helping crappie fishermen catch more fish for years, now they are helping the catfisherman! The all new Silver Cat Series is made of 100% fiberglass, and offers many features only found in catfish rods at a much higher price point. The nylon cord grip will offer great, no-slip handling even with wet, slimy hands, and is durable enough for use in a rod holder. The super-slick ceramic guide inserts are framed by equally high-quality aluminum oxide alloy and will provide smooth line flow for heavy lines. The graphite reel seat will accommodate any size reel, and will keep it tight to the rod for maximum sensitivity. Finally, the glow-in-the dark tip will help you see the lightest of bites during night-time fishing. The Silver Cat is a medium action rod, with a sensitive tip to maximize your catfishing efforts. As with all B'n'M products, they believe sensitivity is the key to catching more fish, regardless of the species.
