Little Dell Question
#1
According to this site you can wear "Clean Waders" which I imagine I would consider mine clean. http://www.famplosion.com/venues/7475-Li...ation-Area

I just want to make sure that this is accurate. Seems to be hard to find info on it. Also, I saw somewhere hours are 8-8. So this is going to sound dumb but are you only allowed to fish during those hours then?

Edit: just noticed that website says from dawn to dusk so nevermind then.

Thanks in Advance.

You just have to be covered up in clean waders to be in the water. No swimming or having your bare legs in the water. The hours are there but as I pointed out before they enforce them the same way they enforce stop signs and redlights around here. Very little risk of being cited for violation of posted hours.

Awesome! Thanks for the info. I was just curious about parking if I got there early before they were "open". Wasn't sure if they have a drop box or something.

The hours are for the gate. You can park up above and walk down any time, but you want to drive down to the lower, you have to go with the posted hours and the $5.00 fee.

In years past the didn't enforce the gate closure at 8:00, it seems they have new guards and they really enforce the times. I got locked in on memorial day weekend and the guard said next time he was going to fine me and have my car towed..

You can be parked at the top lot until dusk, the lowers close at 8:00.

Caught nine cut throats there yesterday.

We were there yesterday as well... brutal wind, but the catching was all good.
We sat at the closed Gate at 7:55 a.m. and waited for the gate keeper to have a smoke and walk around. Seems, someone complained that they opened "too early?" one day and he got his bum kicked for it.... seriously? too early? If they are there, and there is a line of cars waiting (which there was), and don't we pay them their salary....and you can't open the gate 5 minutes early?
I smell something and it ain't pretty.

On the way out, passed to ladies fishing from shore. One asked how we did and lifted her pole revealing power bait on the end. We politely pointed out that that was not permitted at this lake. She was surprised and said she had read on a forum that a gentleman the day before was tearing them up on PB.
Come on people, you are only cheating yourself. They will take it away if it is abused!

The gate keeper even made sure to tell us no worms or anything that smells or tastes (salmon eggs, power bait, scented gummy lures)

Every time I go to Little Dell there are people bait fishing. I just call the poaching hotline on them. I don't even give them a warning. Last time I was up there, there were probably 6 groups all bait fishing. I don't go there anymore because it is such a hassle all the time having to call the hotline and ruining what could be a good day of fishing. I'm pretty sure the increased pressure is from lurkers reading reports on forums..Most of them are bait fishers. In fact, lately I've seen more bait fishers there then people following the rules. What a joke.

Where/what were you using? I was there the same day and caught nothing. Haha. I went just for a bit from about 12 -3 which I think was a bad time. It was windy as hell.

I was talking with one of the rangers cause he saw me down by the river. I was just looking at the fish hehe. I guess they have a huge problem with people netting fish there. The ranger was nice as can be, I talked with him for a good 10 minutes or so.

I was trolling in a kayak using Rapalas, any pattern, and gold panther martins.
