After heavy winter and spring flooding a huge tree is removed from the classic "dog kennel" salmon pool on the Somerley Estate, Hampshire Avon. Paul decides to spend half his birthday ( 6th June) in search of the ultimate "pressy" -- a beautiful fresh run Avon Salmon. He drops off a couple of salmon pics at the lodge together with a "latin rug" extracted above the Ringwood fishery on his favourite spinner- a yellow mepps 3 flying C. Just 100 yards from the lodge he decides to fish the newly cleared "dog kennel pool". His reward came in the shape of a "bright Atlantic" birthday gift just 5 minutes into the session. Using his new under-water camera he captures the return of the fish and shares some useful tips in presenting the flying C. He gets up close to some stunning wildlife including newly hatched damsel and dragon flies and a brood of 12 goosander ducklings with their mother.
