Took my first trip with the Hobie this year. I did one full loop and called it quits after a few hours. There were quite a few people along the shore and also a number of people fishing from boats. Only saw one person catch a small bass but I am sure there were plenty caught that I didn’t see.

I mainly was trolling, but occasionally stopped to toss some jigs. Ended up with one bass, one perch and one muskie. I recently installed the H bar on my kayak which makes standing up and fishing while standing up a breeze. I took a video and we will see if I can get it to link.

Last time I was here I was in my other kayak. Man it is so much easier to fish from a kayak hands free.

Looks like a great rig and nice fish too... One of these days I need to go catch one of those muskie just to say I have... Are they pretty good fighters? I can't believe how big some of them are in that pond... Is the water level really low? Seems like it never filled this year and I'm sure the farmers are watering like crazy now, so I imagine that will be a dry puddle before long... Later J

The water level seemed to much better compared to when I was there last. Though that was later in the year last year. Access to the ramp seemed fine but not sure how long it will take for it to be too low to launch from.

That muskie sure was aerobatic. It kept doing skiing across the top of the water and jumping. Did that three or so times. I did catch a really skinny one out of there last season that didn't put up the best fight.

Wow that sounds like fun.... That's why I love rainbows for their jumping on the way in, a fish that big would be impressive in the air.... Later J

I like the bar idea- kinda reminds me of one of the swamphunters (mr Overalls). Nice release vid. You remind me - I should put a float on my jawgrabber!

So not a lot of action? I'd expect more when you get on top of a school there. Any ski boats out and abouts, or is it low enough they are calling it quits (which is GOOD in my view of things!).

Skunked -you might wanna tube it. I'd bet you can still get your boat on/off, but . . . I know some of them water suckers, and they are hungry for it now. Games on!

Thanks for the report K. (I didn't make it out.... [frown])

Tube it are you crazy, I seen the size of those things and the teeth. I'll be in the boat for that trip. I drove to the dam yesterday while my daughter had choir practice and there were several big boats on the puddle. So I'm sure mine would launch ok. Later J

It seems to be a little bit harder than I expected to get a length while fishing from the kayak. I need to add a ruler on the side of the boat, but I did get an approximate length. It was 45 inches long minus one foot [:p]
