Low Water At Deer Creek
#1
I went up to Deer Creek today to chase the smallies in Wallsburg. I had a blast, caught ten or so in 2 or 3 hours on Pop-r's from the shore. I walked up to the far eastern end where I had been fishing this past spring for trout.I couldn't believe how low it is. I know that the water has been dropping fast all year long, but it really puts it into perspective when you can stand on dry ground, in the middle of your fishing hole from 3 months ago. I took a pic. The roots on the tree to the left were touching the water. The stream running along the bottom is less than 3 feet wide in parts.
Pretty Crazy. Still lots of fishing and fun to be had on the water though. Good Luck!
