Ok I know there is always people posting on these places but I will tell you why I need info. It's been years since I have been to strawberry and never been to currant creek. This coming Monday I will be taking my son and nephew to a two lake fishing trip. Thinking starvation and strawberry. I would like to get them on to some fish and would like to know o some good places. I added currant creek to the list of options I'd strawberry should end up as a no go due to wind issues. And yes I have a boat. I do like and accept pms.
I plan on being at starvation or strawberry early (crack of dawn) then switching lakes a little later in the day.
Thanks in advance for the help.

I caught a couple of rainbows at CC it was slow in the morning so we went to the berry, it was slow as well. I fished with a black leech at CC and caught a couple of bows at the berry on a brown sex dungeon.

Did you notice the flows on the creek? Any hatches? Hoppers?

I know you got my FB message but will answer here for anyone else that wants to know. The road is good, there are some of the standard issue washboards, but not terrible. They are doing a chip seal on the paved section, it might have gotten done today, if not there might be some delays, but I doubt they will be working on Saturday.

I was there last weekend. Did well on trolling for rainbows with a dodger and about any color squid between 20 and 30 feet down. For larger cuts us lures in firetiger. I know it sounds wired but they like em.

I had the same experience Saturday at Strawberry. My Kokanee set up was the best thing for catching Rainbows. We caught 20 in about four hours (so relatively slow compared to previous trips this year).
We tossed out a wedding ring and a worm and caught more (and bigger) chubs than I've ever caught up there (5 total).
We did also reel in a smaller koke (12") and 5 cutts or so (one nice 20" -- the rest 14-15").
All but one rainbow and the stupid chubs are still swimming around up there.
One funny story... one of the rainbows hit the squid as I was putting the line in the downrigger -- about 20 yards behind the boat.
Silly rainbow.
