I am thinking of broadening my spectrum and trying out this pond. Any recent reports? Conditions? Tips? I am thinking of taking my toon and hitting both joes valley and Huntington north in one day. Never been to either. PM's are always welcome.

I'll definitely post one. This is one place we don't see much of.

Thanks. Family wants to plan a trip the first week of September, and I have never been there either.

If your in a boat , hit Huntington north early in the morning. Fish along the dam . It usually gets water skiers pretty heavy by 10 am. Maybe not to bad on a week day though.
At joes valley fish along the bank each way from the dam . Deep for splake, in the rocks for tiger muskie, seely cove area is generally productive also. (the cove where the old marina and boat ramp are) directly across the lake from the dam.

Not good. Huntington north is devoid of fish. Only a few showed up on sonar and no takers. Got to joes valley just after 10 am. Due to the low water I had to haul my toon down and by the time I got on decided against using the motor. Battery is a bit heavy. Saw one tiger Muskie on the surface and hat a hit from another fish before I was blown off the lake at 11:30. Next time I will just do joes and hopefully there's more water.

Well a bad day of fishing is better than a good day at work...right? Were you just flinging flies or were you chucking lures too?

Mainly flies. I did try a spinnerbaits with no luck though. This little reservoir intrigues me and I wouldn't mind going back one day.

The river had a nice blue/green color to it. Just like the lake.

I've heard stories of escapes musky in there! That'd be exciting to see if it's true or not.
