Winds were out of the east at 7 mph, with the sun playingpeek-a-boo with the clouds, temperature in the mid 80’s. After leaving the dock at Bahia Mar, fifteenminutes later lines were in the water at the drop in 120 ft. of water off of thesea buoy in Fort Lauderdale. We started off with two plainers down, onewith a 3 ½ blue reflector drone spoon and the other with a pink and blue seawitch in front of a double hook Bonito strip. For surface baits we went with two Ballyhoos and two Bonito strips witha daisy chain teaser.

The action started off fast – before the 3rdfishing line was in the water, our two plainer rods bent over and two Bonitoswere caught and brought in. From therethe action never slowed down. Jackson, our mate, was working in the cock-pit non-stop, running from one rod to theother. The family, including daughter,Rebecca Mason, and two friends Josh Riddlespur and Mitchell Kinley, took turnsbringing in a total of 23 Bonitos, 3 Kingfish, 2 Barracudas and 1 MahiMahi.

With Smiles on everyone’s faces, they all retired to the a/csalon for the ride back to the dock at BahiaMar 801 Seabreeze Blvd. Fort Lauderdale 33316. Once at the dock, Jackson filet the fish since Stephanie wantedto take the fish over to the Bahia Cabana Restaurant to be prepared for theirdiner.
