A day with Geezer on UL
#1
Monday morning I woke early to meet with Geezer for some repairs to the motor on my boat. After a miscommunication error and almost a disaster we finally launched at American Fork Harbor. Did the tests and found out what my issue is and then decided to go find some kitties. We hit the bubble up and were not disappointed. Geezer is an official master cat man. He started bringing them in like mad. I believe he finished the day off with four nice kitties and about the same amount in white bass. I wiped the skunk away with two whities of my own. Had several hits from the kitties as well but my rods are not very adept at catching them. Left mid to late afternoon as the power squadron was launching their rigs into the 4 feet of water in the marina.
May not have been a lot of fish come to the boat but they were quality fish. And Geezer went home to have some fish tacos. With the amount of time we had to fish with, we had a great time.

Might take my pontoon out of the storage this weekend and find me some kitties and white bass. Nice post [Smile]

Thanks! Would have had more pics but the camera ran out of storage space. Need to do some major deleting.[Tongue]

The bubble up is only about 3-4 feet deep right now and the fish there are willing to bite.

We launched at AF, but the closest one to the bubble up is Lindon.

If I am not mistaken I thought I saw a fly rod in the background of one of the pics.[Wink]

Any on the fly today?

No that was the first rod I went to and nothing was biting. So I switched to my bait caster and spinning rod. Got one whitey on each. Was hoping to get up to strawberry this week but alas that idea was a bust. Well maybe Wednesday.

What were the kitties caught on, if you don't mind me asking?

Think that is a Baitcasting rod, not a fly. Would be fun with a fly, however.

That is a smaller boat, how is it working out?

I did have my 8 wt with me and nothing was taking the fly. So I switched to my baitcaster and spinning rods.

No doubt. But the rod in the picture is a bait caster, that's all.
