Lake Ray Roberts guide report
#1
Ray Bob usually gets tough this time of year and stays that way till spring, and this year is know exception. Went out Saturday and started my search on some main lake points in 25ft of water. Finally found some fish on a tank dam in 60ft of water, top of dam 48ft. Used a drop shot rig 8lb test and a Mr. Twister Finesse worm in Blue Fleck. Boated three up to 3lbs and broke off 4 more. Water temp was only 52deg.

Sandies were on the VERY bottom in 35ft of water but were very easy to catch on chartreuse spoons. I even saw a couple of gentlemen catch a good limit of sandies off the fishing pear in Isle Do Boise State Park.

If you want to go to Ray Roberts this time of year, be prepared to fish hard all day for 5 or less bites. The chances of one of these being over 10lbs are good, but if you miss one bite, it is gone and you won’t get it back. Seems that one is always the biggest fish of the day.

Till Next Time

Good Fishing and

GOD BLESS

Pat,
Thanks for the reports. If things get too rough up at Ray Roberts and have some time to travel, Head down to Port Aransas out of Corpus. It seems that the fish are always biteing there close buy. All the shops are great to give you an update on what is biteing and where to go catch them. Is a small change from the freshwater but you can get hooked on the saltwater angling in that area.
