Steelhead catchin Orofino
#1
Not much expectations as we headed up steelhead fishing with the low numbers and all. What a surprise. After 3.5 days of fishing we caught 21 fish! Only saw six other fisherman the whole time. It seems the low fish counts may be discouraging guys from getting out and catching some of these beauties. Here are a few pictures. My dad snapped one fish off on Saturday that broke off above his bobber stop. An hour later I see his bobber pop up across the river. It would disappear and then reappear. It finally popped back up across from my dad and with a 60 yard cast he hooked the line. He got it within about 2 feet of my outstretched had and that fish took off and ripped off about 50 feet of his line before it finally popped the hook out of his mouth. Have you ever seen Jaws when the shark kept popping up with the barrels attached? I joked with my dad that we just didn't have enough bobbers attached to get him. Anyway will make a good story. Happy fishing.

Pretty impressive! I'll be up there either tomorrow or Wednesday. Maybe both.

Caught all our fish on Michael Jackson jigs or 10mm orange beads with a 4mm cherrybead an inch above it.

That's pretty darn impressive. If you have had a longstanding tradition of fishing that hole on Thanksgiving break, then we have definitely fished together. Only problem is my every year tradition got reduced to 1 out of every 3 for the last 6 years or so.

Anyway, how many fishermen were in your group?
