Hello all. New to the site and seeking an ice fishing companion. Male or female. Preferred experienced (as I know zip about fishing outside the waters of Lake Erie) though we can muddle through together. Seeking the safety factor of another when out and about on the ice. I'm more a Perch or Walleye fisherman but happy to fish other species so long as the trip mix includes a proportionately fair number of Perch/Walleye trips. Outside of a flasher or fish finder this 2014 winter, I plan on having everything we'll need to get out safely on the ice to fish and back again. All another novice would need is appropriate clothing and a fishing license. I reside in the Park City area and not knowing how or where to fish Utah, I was initially looking to explore the more local waters/ice of Deer Creek, Echo, Jordanelle and Rockport. Also interested in eventually fishing Strawberry, Starvation and other productive locations as I become more in tune with where and how to fish Utah. Happy to carry the friendship over to fly and more conventional types of fishing with the change of seasons. If there's a more appropriate thread or site to post something like this on, please point me to it. At 58 years and over 48,000 threads for Utah alone, I may expire before I find it on my own. :-) Safe and happy holidays to all.
