Well some guys told me this morning that you couldnt get on Rock Port but when I drove past on my today I see that isnt true. It does look a little soft at the edges but there were several there Ice Fishing.

If you do get across the crappy shoreline onto the good ice, be careful not to go too close to the old holes from right before the storm. Might be melted out big enough to fall through, and only a thin layer of ice.

Fished it Friday and Sat, west side just up from the dam. the edges were soft out 6ft where I crossed, once on the ice it was good 8". fishing was slow 10 Friday 4 Saturday fished from noon to dark both days. 4 were 16"17" range the rest were 10"12" planters. I believe with all the moister with the warmer temps the lake is just coming up so the edges haven't Had time to freeze good .

We have a scout trip planned for Friday / Saturday. Are the conditions there still too questionable to be safe?
Any insight would be helpful. Thanks! [signature]

Hey Brad sorry about all the confusion. This is what I do know as of today. I fished Echo today for a couple of hours with the boy. and Drove past RockPort. There were lots of people fishing for Christmas day. It was around zero last night at Rock Port and Echo and when we left today at 2 p.m. it was 15 degrees. We are supposed to have another clear night so I bet the temperatures get around zero again. For a tip for taking the scouts out, fish straight out from the boat ramp by the buoys use small jigs like small "gizzy" bugs

Thanks Pikeman! We appreciate the information. We'll probably give it a go, then.
Good fishing! [signature]

like pikeman said the ice is way safe once you get past the soft edge if they still are. haven't been back since last Saturday. did talk to a guy coming off Saturday around noon that had went over to the marina that morning and he said that it was worse over there had 8 to 10 ft of soft edge. you might want to call up to the marina and see how it is or throw a couple boards in just in case. I live up in the kamas area and the temps have been down the last few nights but before that it was pretty warm. good luck.
