Hey I have been looking at these under water cameras for a long time in the stores and catalogs.
Can anyone recommend a good camera for around the $300 range? also how do these cameras work if the water is a little off colored or dirty/ murky?
Can you still see much or does the fish have to be right by the camera before you can see it?
Any information would be great. Im thinking I would like to get one for panfishing through the ice mostly.
Thanks and good luck fishing[fishin]

I have the cabelas 7 inch underwater advanced angler series. No complaints. It just depends how murky it is that you're talking about, seeing fish isn't too much of a problem but seeing your jig can be an issue in murky water when your in deeper water like 25 feet and deeper. At decent water clarity lakes, it's not an issue at all seeing your jig all the way down to 60 feet. only early before the sun comes up and later when it sets is when I have to turn the lights on in really deep water. I love my cam but I need a good fish finder now to go with it.

LX-9 puts the camera and fish finder together.

A camera will do you no good at Pelican. If the water is very murky, you can't see much unless the fish is right in front of the camera. They work great in Starvation though. Mine works alright at the Gorge too down to 40'.

thanks guys I appreciate the info. I think I will look at them a little more before pulling the trigger. sure would be nice with all the technology that we have that they would have better underwater cameras.

Vexilar Fish Scout 800. I just got one. Works great for what I use it for, which is just to see what my flasher can't. Scheels has the for 299.00.
