Jordanelle at Hailstone ramp
#1
Gave my annual try at Jordy in January. Positives include: proximity to SLC, ramp plowed & cleared all the way down which allows parking at water's edge, 8" of ice and skiff of snow atop for easy walking. Negatives: fewer bites, fewer fish & smaller fish than Pineview.
Drilled over 53', 40', 33' 27', and 15'. Got a nice sunny facial, that's about it.

Thanks for the report, although what was reported Saddens me a bit. The perch never seemed to show up at Rock Cliffs last year when I was bassin. Do you think there was another die off? The fall 2012 gill nettting showed quite a few still, but I wasn't able to help last fall.

were there any others out on the ice? is there still open water on most of the lake? sorry your outing wasn't the best how many perch did you actually catch?? Did you have a fish finder if so were you picking up any more fish? Was the ice 8 inches every where you went? sorry for so many questions I have been waiting for a report but no one had really been out there and gave a good report yet.

[#0000FF]I too was hoping for a better report. Not like it was a few years ago.

It's a conspiracy I tell ya. Terrorists are killing off all our perch...in all the formerly great perch ponds.

Yeah, thats it. Too bad those nasty terrorists won't concentrate their efforts on Flaming Gorge burbot or Scofield chubs. Sad

[#0000FF]Too true. We must be satisfied with enjoying whatever we can...for as long as we can. Lots of good memories though.

[#0000FF]Terrorists ain't in the business of providing helpful solutions...like burbot or chub removal. They'd rather cause perch jerkers a lot of grief.

Reminds me of the difference between a Sadist and a masochist. The masochist says "Hit me, hurt me. I love pain." The Sadist says "No way, baby."

Drive by ice report....north arm has had ice for a couple weeks. there is a gap of open water (1-2 acres) just SE of the boat launch, The penninsula has snow-covered ice to the east, and the bay by the PWC ramp grew a skin of ice last night. Main body of the lake and out towards hailstone still open water.

Shame you didn't even get the dinker perch biting. Was out there late last winter and couldnt keep the small perch off your line.
