I woke up at 3;30 am and left Wy at about 5am. Headed for Pineview. A big rig hit a calf elk right in front of me, and showered me with the leftovers. I was glad he was in front of me! It was a little nippy just before sunrise. Went the same place as before, off the north side of Cemetary Point. Fishing was way different than a couple weeks ago. Last trip there were large school of crappie before daylight, and off and on all morning. Today, before daylight, I caught one bluegill, and then one crappie. After light it was spotty. I ended up with 21 perch, but it took all morning. Left around 1pm. Beautiful day! It was good to get out.

Yes, I'm from Wy and drive into Ut to fish. Fishing is great in Wy. but, at least close to Evanston it is pretty much only trout fishing. I can catch trout any time of the year. But I love perch/crappie filets. These fish store very well, and I love catching them through the ice. I put filets in a baggie, fill it with water, and freeze it. I have eaten rediscovered filets, up to 4 years later, and they still taste as fresh as new caughts. With trout, its eat them fresh, or share them. They do not freeze well, in my opinion. I know what you mean, though. I used to travel a long ways to go coyote hunting, until I talked to a guy, very near my house, who also traveled a long ways to coyote hunt. He was coming from the same area, that I drove a long time to get to.

I'm also in evanston and wandered my way to pineview yesterday.Went over by the dam hoping to catch a tiger.Lot's of bites from smaller stuff but did not ice anything.Left pineview and went to echo and fished by the marina and ended over by the rock's by the dam until dark....only caught a little "6 bow the whole day but had a great time!
I usually go by myself and would be great if I could tag along with some local wyo guy's or people on the board for that matter.....[fishon]

Concerning the size of the bluegill... It was only about 6 or 7 inches. Just barely big enough to decide to keep it. It was the first fish of the day, so I just iced it and kept fishing. I used to catch them fairly often down where it narrows, just before the dam.
