Today was a day of firsts. I got to go ice fishing for the first time and I caught my very first northern pike. This morning I met up with my cousin,BornFishing, grabbed my sister and dad and headed to Painted Rocks. It was a balmy 24 to start our trip and when we ended this afternoon it was 41. We were fishing in 18 feet of water. Had to move around a lot to find the fish. We met Duck Dog this morning when we arrived. After his group left the fish started biting. I iced one and my dad iced two. His second was a nice 27 incher. I was using a purple jig tipped with piece of twizzler. My dad and sisiter were using tube jigs with red side shiners, and my cousing a curly tail with carp meat, shiner, and pieces of chub. Yes the second one that my dad caught was invited home to dinner.[cool]
