Thanks for post I was just wondering about this the other day.. The bill sounds like a step in the right direction, the one thing that got me was:

" It would also allow a property owner to place a fence or barrier across a public waterway in certain circumstances.

What considered a certain circumstance ?

But it does say

"It does allow access on public right of ways or easements."

"Pitcher claims his legislation will address boating, wading, swimming and fishing in a stream corridor that is at or below a high-water mark."

Which I find fair no one is looking to access private land from private property just access to the stream up to the high watermark ...

Thanks Again for posting

The best days I had on the weber was in the ogden area. Caught some nice bows and cutties in the area but it's Sad how limited parking you go in the whole stretch of river there is.

Sounds like a good compromise to me.

"Pitcher stressed that a key criteria in the legislation will be whether a public waterway is navigable, which he claims the Weber River has been since 1852 when Robert Gardner first floated logs down the river. He said small streams will still be protected from public use."

As far as "compromising" goes, i agree totally. I'm for taking what we can get from past trials. See you all at the Capital.
