My dad and I hit mantua last weekend. Although the catching was a little slow we had a blast! We did end up icing a couple of nice trout for dinner. Also caught a nice bluegill but returned him back to the water. The weather was perfect and the ice was thick. I am glad I had an opportunity to spend some time on the ice with my dad. Hopefully we can make it out a few more times before the ice starts coming off.

Mantua usually slows down this time of the year. Possibly because of low oxygen from the over abundant plant life.
You may want to give another place a try on your next outing.

nice that ya got out and shared some quality time, and found some hookups. Yeah - Mantua does seem to slow down, but there's still fish in there. Known one BFT-er who really liked LATE ice over there.
I've had a harder time after early Jan passes there.

very true, although my next outing probably won't be Mantua. for me most of the fun is just getting out of the house and enjoying my time away from everything. but don't get me wrong, you can't beat icing a few nice ones every now and then lol
