in search of open water
#1
it's that time of year again. I stare at the boat in the driveway, look at the snowline on the mountains behind the house and think " It wont be long now." Last year it was Deer Creek that had the first open water. I put in on the east end with just a few hundred yards of open water to fish in, but at least I was in the boat and on the water! So if anyone spots some open water in their travels please let me know.

Thursday and Friday of last week the ice with snow on Willard was still fishable, Saturday that had changed and all I could see was water on the ice and the inlet channel had open water, where I had ice fished just a few days earlier. It is suppose to be warmer by Fri so I think it will not be long before I'm going to be able to get on the lake with my boat.[cool] Maybe the end of the month[:/].

It's supposed to be about 70 degrees in Page this weekend.

I think we'll head down there, and put the boat on some open water. Sounds like fat, healthy stripers are to be found!

You might want to play around on livelakeview.com to find open water.

Last I heard was that Jordanelle hardly froze at all, and may be fishable already.

There is open water in the main lake by the dam on Jordanelle but all of the ramps are lock up tight with ice.
