Boat fishing at Willard 02/15/14

Well someone was fishing in a boat at Willard[]. I fished from shore for a couple of hours, only got one bite but here are a few pics for those of you that might be interested in how it is looking there.

Funny how much everyone loves that pond. Just a few acres of open water and 50 people fish it.

I got the same report via my father inlaw earlier this morning. I believe he even spoke to you or Ira. Mid February and all ready boating, crazy.

Actually, they don't let me handle sharp or pointy things anymore...except for catfish. And they can be nasty. See if you can tell what is in my blood in the pic below. A Willard kitty ran a spine up between my third and little fingers. Had to rip it loose. Ouchie.

I was standing there fishing when your father inlaw came walking up with his dog, he took that pic and we talked for a while, nice guy. Right where the ice was yesterday was where we were ice fishing a little over a week ago. It was 9" thick at the time but with warmer water coming down into the lake and the water level finally starting to rise, it is not surprising the ice is going fast. I'll likely get my boat out there this week and check it out for myself.

Kurt, I noticed the weber was running high yesterday, did you notice if they are dumping a bunch of water into Willard yet?

The water isn't coming in at full force but it is coming in faster than it has for months. I can tell the water level has come up a few inches because some structure that was out of the water is now underwater again.
