Holmes Creek ice unsafe

A couple of us tried Holmes Creek today. We tried using 12 foot planks to get from the shore to the hard deck but the ice is too far gone. Good thing we couldn't get on because after walking the shore line we noticed big spots of open water throughout the reservoir. We tried fishing the inlet with quite a bit of open water. We threw everything at them for 4 hours but only one bite and no fish. First time I've been skunked this year. Better luck next time I guess.

Music to my ears! Can't wait to get the boat back in the Gorge! Bring on the Rainbow spawn! Bring on the Smallmouth spawn,then bring on the Koke's and Lakers through the summer! Life is good! Now I can only hope to score some land up there.
