My son and I fished Utah Lake on saturday between 8:30 am and 11 am.
Fishing was very good for bluegills again. We ended up with 38 gills and one crappie.
Most caught on an orange jig tipped with a wax worm. Some fish caught on a Rattlyn Flyer. Fishing really died at 10:45 so we packed it up and headed home.
The Showdown was invaluable for about the last dozen or so fish.
I would get a fish right on the jig but it would not bite. I would have to raise the fish up and down about 3 times in the water column and then it would suck it in.
It was very interesting to see the fish react to my jigging technique and then hit it.
Ice was about 12" and slippery.
