I just picked up a gopro hero 3+ and WOW! Picture/video quality is amazing. With the wide screen there will be some sweet scenes! Even underwater.
Thinking of mounting it on the bow of my assault XX facing me, but wondering if others have used it creatively and how?

[quote Paulpro]I don't like the wide screen "makes your fish look small"
standard screen is way better, plus you view the world for what it is..check out my gopro

So you own a GO PRO?
I love the fish eye lens in a lot of shots. The remote is killer!

I think GoPro is excellent at capturing the entirety of an outdoor scene. Basically as broad a panorama as you see with your eyes.
If mounted on front of your Assault, you would get you, the 'toon, the fish, the lake, and the mountains all in one photo.
For example, it would be hard to get the entire horseshoe of the Colorado with a standard consumer camera but the GoPro creates a photo that is consistent with my memory of the scene.

Perfect, on so many levels.
atvaholic, you are gonna love it. Which 3 did you get? Also, the Scotty camera mount I posted on another thread works for regular cameras as well as GoPro.

This is exactly what I am after! I mean if i'm fishing a lake with limited scenery I wouldnt use the wide mode. But there are a few remote rivers up north where the scenery is breathtaking, especially in the fall. And I would certainly use wide mode for that.
FlyGodess: Its the Hero 3+ Black with remote. Crazy Pricey, but I think the memories will be worth it.
I would buy the scotty mount, but after conversing with you guys i'm having a torrid affair with PVC....its redneck but I love it!

I know. I can tell it's not quite as HD as a GoPro

Ah yeah Galaxy!! These are from my S3 and my Note 3. I think I might get one of those GoPros one of these days just to film. My phone takes good enough photos.
