Gotta love that spring bite
#1
Been out fishing quite a bit since the ice came off. Bass and trout have been great! I've seen some posts elsewhere about some hot southern bass bites but me and my family have been catching some nice ones right here in Utah. Last Saturday my daughters first cast produced a 21" pig and we caught lots of 17" to 18" bass to boot.

The trout fishing has been great too. I've lived at my current address for 7 years now and still haven't explored all the fishin holes yet. Fished a new fairly popular stream 2 weeks ago and was pleased to catch several fun sized rainbows 14" to 17". Fished another fairly new stream to me last week and found some handsome willing browns up to 19".

Lots of water in this great state to explore with lots of hidden treasures. Get out there!

Awesome report, great fish, great Smiles. Kudos getting the young ladies into it.
Isn't it great to find a new honey-hole in your backyard, or somewhere nearby. I had a lot of Utah years not really getting to know and appreciating our waters, so I've tried to do what I can to make up for lost time.

Never discount even a stream behind a store, or a backroad puddle that might actually hold fish. Some real treasures await.

Well done. Thanks for the share.

Very nice fish. What area of the state are in?

Just wondering as I'm color diffused but the fifth pic (140130) looks like a Cutthroat more then a rainbow?

Anyway good on you and happy fishing Smile

I'm on the "northeast coast" of Utah. Dry as a bone but fishing holes everywhere.

Obviously the first pics are LM bass, then two rainbows of different strains, then the last two pics are brown trout.

Coyote: LOAH and a few others on here have amazed me with places they attempt and often succeed in catching fish out of - culverts, drains, tiny springs and seeps, manholes and latrines... maybe not the last two[:p] If there's permanent water there's probably a fish in it.
