bass fishing 12/22
#1
well, i went on my buddies boat in search of big sandies and calicos. he had a special spot. so we started there. we didn't have bait, so we just fished swimbaits the whole day. i started off using a kalin's swimbait. it was green, silver flake, and orange on an orange lead head. first cast... AAAHHHHH!!!! hanging a calico. get that one to the boat. and it seems like after we found the pattern and found where the fish were, we were getting bit on every cast.

my biggest fish was around 5 pounds.... this fish was playing with my bait for awhile, then he just came and swallowed that thing! it was awesome...taking line and everything. fun fight...

Chris's biggest was a decent 3-4 pound calico. but that one came off the swimbait before we could get the camera out. oh well.
we had around 15 fish that day. however, we headed in early because the motor was giving us trouble....we dont know what was wrong with it...it was kinda weird. reminded me of the movie castaway for some reason![laugh][laugh][Wink]

i'll post pictures later.

Hey there joe, thanks for sharing that with us. But you know the rules of the game. Even if it is a secret spot, you have to tell us exactly where it is including GPS coordinates.........................Just kidding. Sounds like you had fun. Hope to see the pics soon.

Hey there DH_tubinjoe,

Sounds like ya did good! We fished a coupla rock piles on the shoe today. We had both live and fresh dead squid.

As you know, once a few guys toss out a few squid or leadhead squid combo, the calico's and sandie's eyeballs get real big and they'll stick their little Tongues out at anything else!!!

Actually, a small jig tiped with squid works to but.....

Good for you on the C&R, Good for you on the skill to get 'em with the plastics. Oh ya, pics are great as they show the private boat, water condition, fish, and lure.... oh ya and the angler.
