How to make a trigger snare for fishing
#1
Found this and thought I would share. I'm thinking about going out to my father-in-laws property this weekend and setting up a few and seeing how it does. Anyone have any tips or suggestions on how to make the most out of these types of fishing snares?

Thanks!

Just remember you only need enough spring in your snare to set the hook not rip it out of the fish. Not like a normal snare where you are trying to kill quickly. Good luck.

Thats a valid point. Didn't think about that. Dont want to rip the hook straight through the fishes mouth!

Great post!  Thanks.

On the twist, it kinda gives new meaning to flying fish.

Perhaps that's how it can propagate into an adjacent lake.

There are yo yo fishing devices for preparedness fishing supplies:

I'm way into preparedness and have snares and traps, but don't have a fishing yo yo.  They seem heavy and of inexpensive quality.

But, I do have heavy duty fishing retractors often used by fly fishermen.  Mine is powerful and lightweight and uses a Kevlar cord and is suited to larger items like a net.  It occurs to me that I can re-purpose them to set the hook for unattended fishing in future harsh times when our preparedness is needed.
