Only had a couple hours to burn, so I made the best of it. Misty always gets excited when the tires hit the dirt. She knows!
Can't say I caught much, but it was Quality over Quantity for me. Finally notched a 30-inch cat. Chunky mama this one. Though she weighed in shy of the 10lb mark, so I guess I'll have to keep trying. Sure fought like a freight train in heat! Zzzzziiing goes the line!

Had a number of vigorous pop and drops, several resulted in very clean hooks. Humph - probably more hungry 30s! Pup always loves to kiss the cat!

Plenty of carp flopping farther out, but none close enough for me to toss a dog-biscuit to. I've got a few spots that should hold a more captive audience.

Nice one, I love it! The north is on our way!
Now, how about you update the standings so we can see those numbers next to em before someone bumps us?[ ]
Don't feel out out by it being under 10#, my nephews 30" came in at 9.1, still plenty chubby too.

Nice one Yote. I'm hoping to hit some bigger Kittys next Saturday during the Flotilla.
I know how to get to Benson Marina, can you give me directions from there to the launch point for Saturday?
Thanks.

TC if you don't mind directions from me, just head east from the Benson Marina to the first four way and take a left, then north until after you cross a river bridge then go a couple blocks and take a right at the first opportunity... Head east until you cross another bridge and take a left immediately after the bridge gardrail ends... That is the lauch, it's underdeveloped, but works... Hope this will get you there okay.... Nice 30" kitty, John...the North looks like it will win (again). Lots of time left though.
Oh wait, I almost forgot:
Where on Cutler??? GPS Co-Ordinance? What did you use for bait? What kind of knot? Depth? Water Clarity? What time of day/night? Two Pole Permit? What was for lunch?
Haha Gotta rib ya...

Gotta give praise where praise is due even tho it pains me so. Great cat! Knew it was only a matter of time....
Now, you will recall that old fable about the tortoise and the hare.... the one where the wabbit streaks out to a big lead only to be nipped at the finish line by the turtle??? You northern fellers wanna keep that in mind as this contest really gets going. [shocked]
June is going to bring a big surge from the south!
Again, (begrudgingly) nice cat.

Utah Lake has some monster cats; we're just up here patiently waiting!
My Grandfather used to catch 'em over 3' (and bigger) quite consistently out of that lake.

Lava-- Agree with ya about some big cats being out there -- just gonna take a while to find 'em.
Went out this a.m. and two crew members took 13 cats. Biggest was 25 incher taken by Catcarsen. Didn't fish myself cuz I was too busy baitin' and unhookin'. Hope to be able to put in a night shift soon ... if the wind will just die down.
Took a nasty bite to the thumb today. (I'm a slow learner) One got me just at the back of my thumb nail and it brought tears to my eyes. Felt like a #4 Victor clamped on. My poor thumb looks like a miniature Ping-Pong paddle. Hard to believe a stupid fish (erman?) can bite that hard. I'll never pick one up again except by the arm pits.
Yote is gonna be hard to live with now that he has broken that 30 in. mark. I guess we have no choice but to put up with him since he is The Judge. Oh well, hope to break that mark myself soon.
Good luck to ya,
BLK

That he is. Just be careful or he'll dock inches from your pic. (or add inches, depends on who you are). It's happened before and it will happen again. We love ya Yote!!
Hey BLK, that's a great pic. Nice Channel, no matter how big. I don't know what's worse, a bite or a dorsal/pectoral fin jab from those kitties.
Some of us use gloves....I just grab 'em by the armpits.
You'll get your 30" er....keep at it.

Hey yote, I just noticed on the contest rules that there is a prize or award or something for each months longest cat. Wuzzup with that? Is mine the May winner? MwaHahahahaha!

Thanks all, it was a "happy dance" moment to lay that tape down. Not like I've put much time into it...
Now when I get a three-pete I'll have bragging rights, now - I can be humble(d) and happy. No doubt - there's bigger ones out there. Guess I'll just have to keep trying, but darn it all - if it don't keep me from pursuing other fishing opportunities. But - the perch can wait! I'm sure there are Crappie days ahead.
Yes - you are the top dawg for May. Let me see what I can get over to ya. Pm will come. Finally getting caught up on scores - folkses been busy! Love it.
Now there was a lot of talk from the south, and we've had a lot of "interest" but less for entrants, and less again for entries. Ya'll aren't gonna make BLK do ALL the work with his kid-crew are ya?

Did you see the maps I posted? Take Jeff's route, or if you go east from the B.Marina - keep going straight until you hit a T, then left, round and abouts until you get to a stop sign T intersection. Go straight - past Benson Church - road bends, drop in right into the launch before you cross a bridge. It's sixes either way.
