Intro and Starvation Advice
#1
Hi, I’m new here. I’ve been lurking for a while and decided it’s time I actually join the community. Quick background on me. I’m 31 and have loved fishing my whole life but spent very little time actually fishing due to lack of companions that actually enjoy fishing or hanging out while I’m fishing. I bought a new tri-toon with a Yamaha 150 last fall and a relatively good graph. It’s not a fishing specific boat (ie no downriggers yet) but It will do.

Now to my question/request. I’m taking my family to Starvation this weekend and would like some tips/advice. There may be two or three of us fishing at any one time. Catching something is going to be more important than targeting a specific species. That being said, I prefer to fish for Bass. I have descent equipment but lack experience and I’ll be by far the most skilled participant. The slowest I can currently troll is between 2 and 3 mph. Can anyone recommend any specific locations and lures/rigs? I’m open to all suggestions.

Thanks

I've only float tube once at starvation but I've caught bass, walleye, and trout by the dam area. I just used a heavy sinker with worm. Toss some crawdad or perch lures around the rocky banks for the bass. Other then that good luck shall be there around July.

I will be there with my family this weekend camped in the lower campground #7. Will be targeting walleye but if I get something dialed in would be more than happy to help you and your family catch some fish. Stop by and chat. Be in white Tacoma/black and tan smoker craft.

Thanks for the tips. Unfortunately plans changed twice and we ended up at Pineview. Didn't get to fish much but did get a Tiger to follow a chartreuse curly tail grub right up to the boat. I've never seen on in the wild so that was amazing. The fact that I finally got some quality polarized glasses helped.
