Finally got some time to do a little fishing. My personal schedule has been hectic family wise. Now that the kids are out of school and things have started to calm down I can now hit the water running. The kids wanted to go do a little fishing today so we laoded up the beast and headed to DC. Mamatrout has been batting a cold all weekend and didn't feel up to the trip.
We hit the water just after 7 amish and headed north to charlston area to start. The fishing wasn't really fast but it was worth it. I hooked into a nice smallie to start the day off. We had a few other ticks on the line but no takers. So we started to drift south. Later in the morning we headed to the west side and I hooked into a nice feisty rainbow. We continued to move around a bit and had several more feisty bows on. The color of the day seemed to be chartreuse and fire tiger. We caught all the fish on jigs, spoons, and cranks. We only took one photo of the trout but all were about the same size and thick. And yes one of them was invited home to dinner.
While waiting our turn to load the boat up I gave the wheel to my son so he could start getting a little experience piloting. I still think he needs more time.[crazy]
The wind picked up around 11:30 and we got tired of fighting it so we were off by 1 pm.
