Fishing Report - Little Salmon 6/14
#1
Recently moved to ID from CO and this was my first salmon outing.

Fished the Little Salmon from 5:30 AM to 5:00 PM on Saturday 6/14. Started up river a bit and landed one jack and released one adult wild salmon.

Moved down to the river mouth and fished until 3:00. Crowds were fairly light and a fish was landed about every 30 minutes or so. Very slow. Skivvy was that the weather had shut things down. It was cool, overcast and a bit of light rain every now and then.

Went down to the circus at the "Glory Hole" as a last ditch effort. A family of inbred rednecks was camped there and "accidentally" snagged 4 or 5 fish and even managed to hook one in the mouth. All drunk and chewing on lead weights. Never again. Heading up tonight for a drift boat outing on Tuesday and will hopefully have a more positive experience.

We threw egg sacks, tuna sacks, corkies, spinners, Kwik fish, pink worms, shrimp tails, you name it. Local Indians we talked to said the big push has not yet arrived. They say recent fish are just the tip of the iceberg.

Glad to see lots of G&F presence. They had survey tables set up and were measuring fish at several locations.

It would seem that theres a big push yet to come. BUT there were a LOT of fish in the main river tue-sat this past week. We were running a 15-30 min average/fish outa the boat for 3 guys. Fish and game guys i talked to thought that was the push.
