Cutler - Bear
#1
My oldest son and I went to the Upper Bear Access and were on the water about 730 AM today. Went up river to the 4th bend in the river. First bend, son caught small Cat, released. Second bend he caught a big Carp that gave him a fun fight. I hooked up another Walleye almost same as one I got Sunday. Took him home.
At the 3rd bend up river, son had quite a tussle with another of those Utah Golden Tarpon[laugh] released. After 4th bend up river, we did a U Turn and headed down river. At the first bend below the launch point bridge, we stopped, had some lunch, and washed more worms. Now my memory begins to fade a bit. But between there and the 4th bend down river he boated 1 more Carp and another baby Cat, and I got the final catch of the day, a cute baby kitty. All fish except the Walleye released. Called it a day about 2:30 PM. But the day was beautiful, the river was ours alone, and even though no Cats for me to bump into the contest, the Carp fights were a hoot.

Way to go Forest got those eyes figured out. That's like very impressive two trips in a row to catch eyes around here. Good job. J

Plain dumb luck both times. Up River to second bend. River turns to the left, but on the right side there is a shear mud / dirt bank up from the water and what looks like a old fallen down pump house. Was fishing off the bottom with worms just off that dirt wall in about 10 -12 feet hole.

I'll take some of that kind of luck. Most of the eyes I catch out there are on worms. Guess I need to try some next trip. Thanks. J

Cool you're getting exploring. Some neat stretches of river outthere.
